polarpoint is in ALPHA. We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, including when you join the polarpoint waitlist, why we collect it, how we look after it, and how you can access, correct or delete it.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist
- your first and last name
- your personal email address
- your LinkedIn profile URL
- your phone number, if you choose to provide it.
We also record the page you signed up from and the time you signed up.
When you contact us
- your first and last name, email address and, if you choose to provide it, your phone number
- whether you already have a polarpoint account
- the type of enquiry and the details you send us.
Technical information
Like most websites, our providers may automatically log technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit.
We don't ask for sensitive information (such as health, financial or political information), and we ask that you don't send it to us.
Why we collect it
We use your information to:
- manage your place on the waitlist
- contact you personally about beta access and your invitation
- respond to your enquiries
- understand the professional background of the leaders interested in polarpoint, so we can shape the product and plan our cohorts
- keep our website secure and working properly.
We'll only email or call you about your waitlist place and invite, or your enquiry. We don't sell your personal information or share it with others for their own marketing.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run this website and manage the waitlist:
- Supabase hosts the database where waitlist and enquiry details are stored. See Supabase's privacy policy.
- Cloudflare hosts this website. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
They may only use your information to provide their services to us.
Our database is hosted by Supabase in Singapore, so waitlist and enquiry details are stored outside Australia. If any of your information is stored or processed outside Australia, we take reasonable steps to make sure it's handled in a way that's consistent with the APPs.
We may also disclose information where the law requires or authorises it.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist and enquiry details only for as long as we need them for the purposes above, then delete or de-identify them. If you ask to be removed from the waitlist, we'll delete your details.
Fonts and cookies
This website loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and shares your IP address with Google. See Google's privacy policy for details.
We don't currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If that changes, we'll update this policy first.
How we protect it
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. All information sent between your browser and this website is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
No method of transmitting or storing information electronically is completely secure, so while we work hard to protect your information, we can't guarantee its absolute security.
Data breaches
If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we'll notify you by email as soon as we reasonably can, tell you what happened and recommend steps you can take, and notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- access the personal information we hold about you
- correct information that's inaccurate
- delete your information, or remove you from the waitlist
- give you a copy of your information in a portable format
- withdraw your consent, where we rely on it.
Please contact us. We'll respond within 30 days.
If you're in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or California, you may have additional rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR or CCPA. We'll honour your rights wherever you're located.
Children's privacy
polarpoint is designed for professionals and isn't directed at children under 13 (or 16, where local law requires). We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we've handled your personal information, please contact us. We'll work with you to resolve it. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as polarpoint grows, including when we launch the polarpoint app and its related tools. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated. Where changes are significant, we'll also let you know by email. This policy applies from the "Last updated" date shown above.
